Tiptoe Through the Lily Pads

I love three day weekends! We were sitting at home Saturday around lunch time and suddenly said – “Let’s go camping!” So we packed up and headed out as soon as possible! We loaded up our bikes and the dogs and we were off. Along the way – our bikes came loose and there were a few casualties. I had no idea that handle bars could be filed down so quickly by concrete and speed. LOL!!! We decided to visit Huntsville State Park. It is north of Houston and an easy short drive.

Sunday morning we rode our beat up bikes to the swimming area. It is a nice spot – But if you leave that swimming area – beware of alligators. We only saw a 2 footer – they are more scared of us – right? We also had a relaxing canoe ride. Well it was relaxing for me – the guys paddled and I just sat in the middle. ) Here are a few snaps from our trip!

What a lovely evening we had! The park was very empty except for a few whitetail deer that crossed our path. Suzanne and Matthew are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. She will be here soon and I can’t wait to take her picture!

Sweet Little Miss T. {Friendswood Children’s Photography}

I had the privilege of photographing a wonderful family wedding in April. It was on the beach and it was beautiful. You can see some pics here Allayna and Chris. A sister of the bride was 8 months pregnant and she was glowing. She was a darling bridesmaid and really was fun to photograph. I was honored to get a call from her to photograph her sweet little Miss T. We had fun posing this little cutie pie. She was really a good baby and did not mind all the fuss and changing of clothes. I love the shots captured! Here are a few sneak peeks of our Friday night fun in the park!

Man Oh Man! Where is the cold front? We won’t have any cool weather here for a while. It has been down right steamy and miserable here on the Gulf Coast. I thought we could use a little “Colorado Dreaming” !

Bellingrath Gardens {Alabama Vacation}

We spent last week enjoying coastal Alabama. It was a fabulous trip. We had so much fun and visited many great spots. This post is dedicated to the gorgeous Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, Alabama. It is a 65 acre garden with a lovely historic home. It was originally built on the site of a fishing camp along the Fowl river and then evolved to be so much more. The gardens were first shared by the Bellingraths in 1934. It is open year round and the fabulous flowers change with the seasons. It is a gorgeous living work of art with so many spots to sit and soak in the beauty.

Galveston Beach Cuties {Galveston Beach Photographer}

I was very excited to photograph this lovely family. They were visiting Galveston Island and wanted some family shots on the beach. Hurricane Alex was forming in the gulf, the summer sea weed was everywhere and storm clouds were threatening – but that did not stop their smiles! Just take a look at these precious kids! It was also fun to work with a fellow photographer. If you are visiting San Antonio you should call Valerie Jauer Photography to get some great family shots. She is a really sweet lady and I know you will enjoy working with her.

Natasha and Gaston are now Mr. and Mrs. Garcia! I have known Natasha since she was in high school. Time really flies! I had such a great time with all of their family and friends. Lots of food and fun. Here is a quick sneak peek of the newlyweds!

The heat and humidity was off the charts but we had fun. I think this is just a beautiful family. Of course I am biased – this is my lovely niece and her husband and son. Our sweet and precious little boy was not wanting to play our photography games. He had his own agenda! We did get a few really cute smiles. As long as the bubbles were blowing – he was happy. We are planning another shoot soon with some of my new props. I can’t wait!

Uninvited Guests {Friendswood Photographer}

Sometimes there are uninvited guests that just hang out during a photo session. They just stare and wonder what we are doing in the park. Who knows why they stare? I guess it is because my clients are so lovely! These two were not invited – and we just stared right back at them. Hope you are all staying cool in this sauna we call Texas! I see most of the South is in the grip of summer heat. Stay cool and have fun!
